These Terms of Use govern your use of the ScanChef mobile app and related services. By using ScanChef, you agree to these terms.
The service
ScanChef provides tools for identifying possible ingredients from photos, creating recipe ideas, estimating nutrition, and organizing cooking information. Features may change or be unavailable from time to time.
AI results, recipes, and nutrition
Recipes, ingredient detection, calories, macros, and other nutrition values are AI-generated estimates and may be incomplete or inaccurate. ScanChef does not provide medical, allergy, dietary, or professional nutrition advice.
You are responsible for checking ingredients, quantities, food condition, preparation steps, cooking temperatures, labels, nutrition information, and suitability before eating or serving food. Do not rely on ScanChef to identify spoiled food, hidden ingredients, allergens, contamination, or other health risks.
Dietary preferences and restrictions
ScanChef can try to avoid ingredients selected in dietary preferences or exclusions, but AI results and filtering may be inaccurate. You remain responsible for checking every ingredient and label and deciding whether a recipe is suitable. ScanChef does not claim that recipes are medically allergy-safe.
Premium subscriptions
ScanChef Premium subscriptions are billed through the Apple App Store. Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled in accordance with Apple App Store rules. You can manage or cancel a subscription through your Apple ID or App Store subscription settings. Billing, refunds, renewal timing, and cancellation are governed by Apple's applicable terms.
Acceptable use
You may not misuse ScanChef, interfere with its operation, attempt unauthorized access, reverse engineer the service except where applicable law permits it, submit unlawful or harmful content, evade usage limits, or use the service in a way that violates applicable law or the rights of others.
Intellectual property
ScanChef and its software, branding, design, and original content are protected by applicable intellectual property laws. These terms grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the app for its intended purpose.
Disclaimer and limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, ScanChef is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of accuracy, reliability, availability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. To the fullest extent permitted by law, ScanChef will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for losses arising from reliance on AI-generated results, recipes, ingredient detection, nutrition estimates, or service interruptions. Nothing in these terms limits rights or liability that cannot legally be limited.
Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms of Use as ScanChef changes. The effective date above identifies the current version. Continued use after an update means you accept the updated terms to the extent permitted by law.
